Henry with handler Marion came to the line at 11:50 am ... 

LF – Henry made quick work of his flyer

LR – Good line to the area. Swam across the pond coming in at the base of the holding blind, he shoots past and is handled as he begins to climb the hill.

RF – He gets his flyer – good mark!

RR – Henry is across the pond – right of the guns and continues ... he is handled to this bird.

This test took Henry 20 minutes to complete ...

After the second Test Dog ran, the Judges decided to take out the left-hand flyer, making the test a Water Triple with One Flyer and Two Retired.

Maci with handler Lee came to the line at 11:19 am ...

LF – Straight up the hill and to her flyer!

LR – Into the pond across the point and back into the water. She comes up behind the blind for an extended hunt along the far shore. She works out the bird and got it!

RR – Angling across the small pond, Maci gets up on the land bridge that carried her below the main pond. She works her way around the dam to hunt behind the guns. After an extended hunt she comes to the waters edge to cross over and get her bird.

RF – Maci got across the pond and went deep of the bird. She was handled to this bird.

This test took Maci 20 minutes to complete ...

Henry with handler Marion came to the line at 8:03 am ... 

2 early whistles to adjust the line, brought back in a bit and adjusted entry. Henry gets in the water after some difficulty. Back up on shore and cast back into the pond. Multiple whistles through the pond. Across the island and multiple whistles to get him over to the blind

This test took Henry 8 minutes to complete ...

Maci with handler Lee came to the line at 8:12 am ...

Good initial line that carried her about 3/4 of the way to the water, 2 whistles to adjust for entry, 3 whistles to the shore then to the point area and across the end of the island. 2 whistles over and on the bird. 

This test took Maci 4 minutes to complete ...

Next up was Henry and Marion ... they came to the line at 9:31 am ... 

RF – The bird was angled back. Henry is around the end of the pond and to the cover where he finds his bird.

LF – Through the first pond, around the next – Entered cover between the log and the gunners. He hunts the cover and moves far right. He is handled to this bird.

RR – Across the end of the pond, Henry drives up and right taking a portion of the mowed lane, but needs to be handled to his bird.

LR – Through the pond and around back of the holding blind and continues deep. After an extended hunt, Henry is handled to this bird also.

This test took Henry 13 minutes to complete ...

 

8th Series Test Dog #1

First up ... Maci with handler Lee came to the line at 8:32 am ...

RF – Maci got a long flyer that went down in cover. She worked in the area and retrieved her bird.

RR – The initial line out was right. She crossed the pond and ran the ground behind the flyer station. She was handled to this bird.

LF –Through the water of the first pond and across the second one. A loop in one block of cover and across to the other. Back with her bird.

LR – Went deep of the bird. Hunted the heavy cover and was difficult to keep track of her movements. Maci came out of the heavy cover and worked over to the bird.

This test took Maci 17 minutes to complete ... They stopped the test to groom the grounds ...

First up ...  Henry and Marion came to the line at 4:31 pm ... 

Across the road, 4 whistles to get past the gunners and 2 more up the hill to the bird.

This test took Henry 2.5 minutes to complete ...

Next up ... Maci with handler Lee came to the line at 4:34 pm ...

4 whistles to the gunners, a correction whistle to get the line right of the gunners and up to the road.

This test took Maci 2 minutes to complete ...

First up ... Maci with handler Lee came to the line at 6:48 am ...

P – Good!

RG – Very good mark!

F – Good move to the area. Hunted in cover and found her bird!

LRG – Out to the far shore line. She turns hard right and climbs the hill, and then back down to the area. She works in cover to find her bird!

P – Good Mark!

F – Excellent Mark!

LRG – Good initial line. He ran the mowed shoreline, winded the flyer crate and then got into the area of the flyer – he was handled back to this bird.

RG – Came in left of the tree and handled to this bird.

This test took Henry 13 minutes to complete ...

Launched and lines to angle the water. One whistle and onto the next depression of marsh and out. One more whistle to the end.

Next up ...  Henry and Marion came to the line at 2:57 pm ... 

Downhill to the first corner of the marsh, splashing through the water to the far shoreline. One whistle up to the next greenery area and out. One whistle to the top that carries him to the blind.

The test is taking about 3 minutes per dog ...

5th Series Test Dog – Day 3

Test Dog Came to the line at 7:53 am...

The single test dog for this morning was Maci with handler Lee ... up to the line ...

F – Short work of this bird – Nice!

RR – Down the hill into the marsh – through both cover and water to he blind and then worked out to the bird.

SimF – Took a line similar to the right retired, kept going straight, she made a wise move to the left and on to her bird!

LR – Took a nice line out under the arc of this bird – was going deep, stopped her and started to handle to the island with the bush and her bird.

5th Series Test Dog – Day 2

Our Test Dog Came to the line at 7:59 am ...

The single test dog for this morning was Henry with handler Marion ... up to the line ...

F – The shots with a sluice makes this bird along with the close distance tot he mat; VERY appealing, nice job!

SimF – Down the right side out to the area behind the gunners and a few quick turns and he had it!

LR – Went under the arc and kept going. Tried to handle but he turned and then needed to be picked up. *since this is a test dog he still ran the right retired mark as well.

RR – Up the right side and went wide right – popped – and moved on too deep, but then found his way left to the bird.

Test complete at 8:10 am. This test took a Henry a little over 11 minutes.

5th Series Test Dogs

Test Dogs Came to the line ...

First up was Henry and Marion ... 

F – Henry ran to the flyer and hunted in running water.

SimF – Headed long to the simulated flyer, hunted a little and found his bird.

LR – Was sent for bird. Tight hunt – ended up handing Henry to the bird.

RR – Charged behind the gun station, back-sided the gun and was handled to the bird.

The test took a Henry just slightly over 10 minutes to complete the test.

Next up was Maci with handler Lee ...

F – Went directly to the flyer skirting the running water.

RR – Went to the right retired next, started down the middle and was handled to the bird.

LR – The dog ran to the left of the wooden duck blind then quartered towards the left retired bird. After a short hunt Maci was handled to the bird.

SimF – Maci headed toward the simulated flyer. She took a direct path up the middle and straight to the bird.

The test took Maci a little over 15 minutes to complete this test.

 

3rd & 4th Series Test Dog – Day 2

The single test dog for this morning was Jack with handler Michael ... up to the line ...

F – Jack was through the pond and up the hill in a flash! A couple zig zags in the area and she had her flyer.

RR – Great style! Jack is out and she gets to the area, makes a left and then she is coming back with her bird!

B – Great initial line! 1 whistle on and off the point, and then 2 more to the bird.

Test complete at 6:44 am. This test took a Jack a little over 6 minutes.

 

 

 

 

3rd & 4th Series Test Dogs

First up was Maci with handler Lee. Maci came to the line at 6:39 am

F – Maci cuts through the cover to the pond, at the shore she cuts right along the shore and runs to the area of the fall and grabs her hen mallard. She returned back through the pond.

RR – Maci's initial line was taking her wide of the water. Her handler stopped her and cast her towards the water. Further handles guided her to the bird.

B – 2 whistles before the shore, 1 in the water, 1 to get on point, 1 off and 3 more along the shore and a check down at the bird.

This test took a Maci a little over 11 minutes to complete.

Next up was Henry and Marion Carey ... Henry came to the line at 6:51 am

F – Henry flys through the cover and into the pond, a quick swim across and out for a run to the mark!

RR – He went wide right to the water, gets to the area and swims across the pond to the wide left of the bird. He is handled to the bird.

B – A few whistles establish the initial line, 2 more to the point, 3 in the next patch, Henry is out but required just a couple quick whistles to come back with his bird.

 

This test took a Henry a little over 11 minutes to complete also.

Dottie came to the line at 6:44 am

F – Dottie scooted down the hillside and along the road, once across the base, she took a sharp right and across the field to get her bird!

Next up was Henry and Marion Carey ... Henry came to the line at 6:54 am

F – A good start into the field, a quick turn and Henry is headed back with his bird.

RG – Line angling end of draw and to his bird.

B – Blind planted as soon as the Retired Gun is picked up. Henry holds the hillside and gets to his bird with  a quick check down whistle at the end.

And our final test dog was Maci with handler Lee. Maci came to the line at 7:01 am

F – Maci sits for her bird, hind legs ready to be launched! She angles out to the area of the fall for a tight hunt and finds her hen pheasant.

RG – Heading to the right, she is headed toward her Retired Gun bird. Her line takes her behind the blind hide for a hunt behind the gunners. She works over to the fall and gets her bird.

B – Initially holding the line on the edge, she begins to come in high left and is handled to the area.
