10th Series – Water Triple with a Flyer and Two Retired

15 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out this series at 11:19 am, beginning with "Maci" and then "Henry" was up next at 11:50 am. With that, handlers got a preview of what they could expect for the 10th series. There was a short delay after the test dogs ran to adjust the test before we began.

Our first running dog was #53 AFC Razor's Buckshot, “Shooter,” LM, with handler Larry Vaske. They officially started the 10th series running at 12:44 pm!

The weather this afternoon as we began this series was in the low 80's but heated up into the 90's! We had a slight breeze from the NNE, and sunny skies.

Here is how things turned out for the 10th Series…

Our last running dog this afternoon to finish the 10th Series was dog #28 FC-AFC Buster Posey MH, “Buster,” LM, with handler Steve Kompf. They came to the line at 5:07 pm and completed the test. 

This test and the 2022 National Amateur was then officially in the books at 5:14 pm. 

15 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 4 hour and 30 minutes. There were several delays throughout this test, but it took on average of about 12-15 minutes per dog to run this test.

9th Series – Water Blind

16 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out the day today at 8:03 am, beginning with "Henry," next up was "Macy" at 8:12 am. Handlers got their preview of what to expect for the 9th series water blind and we were ready to go!

Our first running dog #28 FC-AFC Buster Posey MH, “Buster,” LM, with handler Steve Kompf officially kicked off the 9th series running at 8:29 am!

The weather this morning started in the 60’s and warmed up as we went. Skies were sunny.

Our last running dog this morning to complete the 9th Series was dog #21 FC-AFC BD North Shore's Instant Rain Gear QA2, “Poncho,” LM, with handler Malcolm Haith. They came to the line at 9:57 am and completed the test. This test was then officially in the books at 10:03 am. 

16 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 1 hour and 34 minutes. It took on average just under 6 minutes per dog to run this test.. 

Callbacks are up and we are waiting on to the 10th Series!

8th Series – Land/Water Quad with Two Flyers and Two Retired and an Honor

27 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out the day today at 8:32 am, beginning with "Maci." There was a delay between the first and second test dog to groom the grounds. After that, at 9:31 am "Henry" was up next to run as test dog. Handlers had a good preview of what to expect for the 8th series and we were ready to go!

Our first running dog #5 FC-AFC Chopper's Final Approach, “Billie,” LF, with handler Joel Harris, officially started the 8th series running at 9:54 am!

The weather started in the 60’s and reached into the low 80’s this afternoon. We had a slight breeze that did have an impact on the test and mostly sunny conditions for the majority of the day as well.

Our last running dog this afternoon to close out the 8th Series was dog #92 AFC-CAFC Windcrestrpmlegend Of The Past, “Poncho,” LM, with handler Jim Dorobek. They came to the line at 5:21 pm and completed the test. This test was then officially in the books at 5:25 pm. 

27 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 7 hours and 31 minutes. There was a delay this afternoon, which made the testing period longer, but generally it took about 10-12 minutes per dog to run this test..

7th Series – Land Blind with a Dry Pop and a Sluice

27 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started this test at 4:31 pm, beginning with "Henry," and then came "Maci," giving the competitors an idea of what to expect for the 7th series Land Blind. 

Our first running dog #51 AFC Laguna Creek's First Mate, “Sailor,” LM, with handler Sonya Harrigfeld-Jackson started the 7th series running this afternoon at 4:45 pm!

This was a quick Land Blind so there aren't any stats to show!

Our last running dog for the day, and for Series 7 was dog #48 AFC Dottie Ray's Black Raven, “Raven,” LF, with handler Andy Kahn. They came to the line at 5:44 pm and completed the test. This test was in the books officially at 5:46 pm. 

27 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 1 hours and 1 minute! Which averages out to be just a little over 2 minutes per dog. It was a quick one!

Callbacks are posted and instructions on how to get to the 8th Series will follow this evening!

Test Dogs started out the day at 6:48 am, beginning with "Maci," and then came "Henry," giving the competitors a good idea of what to expect for the 6th series. 

Our first running dog #33 Holland Cliffs Blade A Fine Line, "Dozer" with handler Alvin Hatcher started the 6th series running this morning at 7:35 am!

The weather started in the 60’s and reached into the upper 70’s this afternoon. We had a slight breeze and mostly sunny conditions for the majority of the day.

Our last running dog for the day, and for Series 6 was dog #28 FC-AFC Buster Posey MH "Buster," LM with handler Steve Kompf. They came to the line at 3:50 pm and completed the test. This test was in the books officially at 3:55 pm. 

46 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 8 hours and 20 minutes, which averages out to be just under 11 minutes per dog.

81 Dogs Started this Series

The single Test Dog started out the day today at 7:53 am. Test Dog "Maci" with handler Lee Herskowitz ran the test to show if there were any new conditions on this test for handlers this morning. After that we were off and running! First up was Dog #78 FC-AFC Mission Mountain's Home Cookin’, “Traeger,” LM, with handler Mark Neeley at 8:12 am.

Here is how things turned out on Day 3 …

Our last running dog for for this Series was dog #21 FC-AFC BD North Shore's Instant Rain Gear QA2, “Poncho,” LM, with handler Malcolm Haith. They came to the line at 1:32 pm – completed the test, and this series was final at 1:39 pm. 

All together, 81 dogs were sent from the line for test 5, taking a total of 17 hours and 56 minutes, which averages out to be about 13 minutes per dog.

5th Series – Land Quad with a Flyer, a Simulated Flyer and Two Retired

The single test dog of the day started out our 2nd day at the 5th Series to give competitors a refreshed look at what they could expect when they ran this test today. "Henry" ran the test at 7:59 am and we were ready to get going with our first running dog ...

The first running dog of the day was #40 AFC They Call Me Flamin Maimee, “Maimee,” LF, with handler Kyle Broussard at 8:21 am this morning!

The weather reached up into the low 80’s with sunny skies. It was a warm, nice and bright day!

Wednesday morning we will have our first running dog #78 at 8:00 am.

5th Series Recap - Day 1

5th Series – Land Quad with a Flyer, a Simulated Flyer and Two Retired

Test Dogs started out the 5th Series beginning with "Henry" and then "Maci" was up next to give the competitors a good look at what they can expect for the 5th Series. (... and they would have noticed again, that it was going to be another tough series!)

The first running dog was #10 AFC Trumarc's Mumbo Jumbo, “Jumbo,” LM, with handler Sylvia McClure. They kicked off the 5th series at 2:55 pm this afternoon!

The weather reached up into the low 70’s and sunny skies. A nice and bright afternoon to run this test!

Tuesday morning we will have one single test dog that will run at 6:30 am and then we will have our first running Dog #40 continue Series 5 shortly thereafter.

The single Test Dog started out the day at 6:38 am. Test Dog "Jack" with handler Michael Moore ran the test to show if there were any new conditions on these two tests for handlers this morning. After that we were off and running! We picked back up with Dog #52 AFC Candlewood Game Of Perseverance, “Percy,” LM with owner handler Jane Dunn at 6:48 am.

Here is how things turned out on Day 2 …

All together, 92 dogs were sent from the line for tests 3 & 4, taking a total of 16 hours and 40 minutes, which averages out to be just under 11 minutes per dog.

Test Dogs started out the day at 6:39 am, beginning with "Maci" and then "Henry" was up next to give the competitors a good idea of what they might expect for the 3rd and 4th Series. (... and they would have noticed, it was going to be a tough two series!)

Our first running dog #88 AFC Joe Panik, “Josey,” LF with owner handler Missy Bell kicked off the 3rd and 4th series at 7:19 am this morning!

The weather started in the low 50’s and reached into the upper 60’s. We didn't have much breeze and mostly cloudy conditions for the majority of the day. Again, it was a pretty good day to be in the field to watch these amazing dogs work!

NOTE: There will be no caravan Monday morning back to the Series 3 & 4 site!

One test dog will run at 6:30 am and then we will have our first running dog start shortly thereafter.

1st & 2nd Series – Converging Land Double and Land Blind

94 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out the day at 6:44 am, beginning with our honorary test dog "Dottie." Then came "Henry" and "Maci," giving the competitors a good idea of what they might expect for these first two series. 

Our first running dog #68 FC SDK's Moderation Is For Cowards, "Kikr" with owner handler Shane Olean started the 64th running of the 2022 National Amateur Retriever Club Championship at 7:22 am!
Our weather started in the 50’s and reached into the mid 60’s. We didn't have much breeze and mostly cloudy conditions for the majority of the day. All in all, it was a pretty good day to be in the field with our beloved retrievers!

Here is how things turned out for the 1st and 2nd Series…

94 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking 9 hours and 25 minutes, which averages out to be just about 6 minutes per dog.
