RR – Out to the tree – one left turn – 1 loop at the base and then over to his bird.
F – Stepped on it!
LR – Ran the left side of the pond almost to the flyer guns – got in and swam across. Drove the hill – stayed in the area and hunted until she found her bird.
Evie and Bente came to the line at 9:55 am
P – Angled through the water and got her bird!
RR – Very good mark!
F – Good line to the area, brief hunt and she was on her bird!
LR – Across the pond, over and back in the water, Evie exited going up the hill for a couple loops before turning down the hill for an extended hunt that requires a handle to the bird.
Terry and Susie came to the line at 9:43 am
P – Out to the fall area and quickly got her bird.
F – Out to the area in front of the guns, a few tight loops and she got it!
LR – Ran left of the pond all the way down – clipped just behind the flyer guns staying dry – Got out to the fall area and missed it. Hunted wide left and right. Had to handle out of the flyer area.
Dismissed from running the last bird by the Judges.
Raven and Andy came to the line at 9:32 am
P – Raven got her pond bird!
RR – Heeling to the right, Raven makes quick work of her bird!
F – Very good mark!
LR – Raven exits the pond and starts to hunt up the hill deep of the gunners – she then comes back down the hill and recovers her bird.
Drake and Breck came to the line at 9:13 am
P – Cut close in front of the guns – made a short turn right and then out to his bird.
F – Went to the far side of the fall area and turned away from the bird – hunted here and then worked back left and out to his bird.
LR – Down the left side – got behind the guns, straight out to find the blind, then moved down the left to his bird.
RR – Going up left of the fall area – a quick right turn and he got it!
Tango and Mark came to the line ...
P – A loop in the water and then out and up to her bird.
RR – To the tree and right – Tango was on her bird.
F – Out to the area and she took a right to establish an extended hunt before digging out the bird.
LR – Into the pond and pulling right – he squares out. Picked up.
Izzy and Rick came to the line at 8:53 am
P – Good line – quick job!
RR – Nice Mark!
F – Went deep and then deep right before moving left to the fall area and her bird!
LR – Ran in front of the flyer guns deep – turned right up the hill to his bird.
Koufaxx and Lauren came to the line at 8:42 am
F – Good line out. A tight hunt down and left of where he arrived – in to the field and he has his bird.
RR – Good mark!
P – Good mark!
LR – Angled across the pond, up and over the point – then Koufaxx jumped back into the water to climb the hill – a left turn and he worked his way to his bird.
Maimee and Kyle came to the line at 8:28 am
P – Straight to it through the corner of the pond.
F – Out across the field – came in under the arc – hunted short right and deep right – extended her hunt left and she got it!
RR – Hunted the hillside way deep left on the hill – ran back down the hill in front and she got her bird!
LR – Clipped the left corner of the pond and ran the left side – jumped in! – got to the far side and hunted short, then went back way right – was handled to the bird.
Jack and Phil came to the line ...
P – Quick recovery of his bird!
F – Out to the area and Jack turned left to his fall area – a brief tight hunt and he had his bird!
LR – Good line! He got to the bird and came back in front of the flyer guns.
RR – Jack drives beyond the mark. He is stopped deep of the bird and handled back to it.
Madduxx and Jamie came to the line at 8:08 am
P – Straight to the bird!
RR – Through the cover and immediately turned for the bird!
F – Very long bird – extended hunt in heavy cover – stayed in the area.
LR – Ran the left bank to the end just behind the flyer guns – drove straight to the fall area and his bird!
Lazer and Tom came to the line at 7:58 am
F – Went to the area of the fall and headed back home with his bird!
P – Very good mark!
LR – Good line along the backside of the flyer crates, driving through a corner of water – he takes the incline and digs out his bird.
RR – Hunted left of the tree. Lazer works around to come from behind the tree for his pheasant.

Test 6 is a Land/Water Quad with Two Retired, a Flyer and an Honor. The mat faces south overlooking a beautiful open ended valley with a pond in the middle. This pond has been aptly named the "Butterfly Pond."
The first bird shot is a hen mallard Flyer (We will refer to this mark as "F" for Flyer.) This gun station is in front of the mat on the far left end of the pond on the levee. This bird is thrown then shot to the left out into the field landing approximately 174 yards from the line. |

GOOD MORNING Everyone! We are going into the 6th day here at the National Amateur – and we will starting the 6th Series which will be a Land/Water Quad with Two Retired and an Honor.
PLEASE NOTE: Our connectivity should be better in this area today ... we Hope! Fingers crossed, but please be patient with the posting if we run into issues along the way 😣 we are doing our best with the circumstances!
Good evening … the field trial committee has announced that the Sixth Series for tomorrow will be held on Andy Kahn's property at the "Butterfly Pond." It will be a Land/Water Quad. The Test Dogs will run at 6:30 am and the first running dog, #33, will run at 7:00 am. Have a good evening …
After Dog #33 ran the 6th Series Blind and completed it, the Judges made the decision to cancel this test due to sun shining in the dogs eyes when they are being handled to the blind. They have scrapped this test. We are awaiting further instructions from the chief marshal as to where and what the next test will be tomorrow.
The test ended for the day at 3:15 pm.

The 6th Series is a Land Blind back at TJ Lindbloom's property. (the same site as the 5th Series)
The mat has been moved down the hill. The handler comes to the line and calls for the birds. Two gunners stand from the simulated flyer station used in test five. They shoot twice. Then, the handler proceeds with the blind.
The line to the blind takes the dog down the first Terrace onto a flat. Then he goes through the right corner of the marsh, staying close to a line of small evergreens running in the line from near to far.
After the second evergreen there is a small marsh pond. When they exit this pond, they go through a shallow line of bullrushes. The dog must keep close to a small evergreen bush. Proceeding across the flat, the Drake Mallard is located in front of a pile of sticks approximately 277 yards east of the mat.
Decoys have been planted in the left side of the first marsh.
The test is taking approximately 3 minutes per dog.

SimF – Lined out to the tree on his way to the short retired around back and then deep left – Lost sight of him – next seen at the long stand out and he got it!
RR – Nice line under the arc but kept going – had to be handled back into the fall area and then to his bird.
LR – Excellent line to the island – touched it and made a turn left then immediately back with his bird.
Test Dog Came to the line at 7:53 am...
Today, we are back at TJ Lindbloom's property for our 3rd day of the 5th Series. We should be finishing this test up and moving in a few hours. The conditions today are sunny skies, with a very slight NNW breeze at 8mph. It will be warming up and temps will get to about 84 degrees as the day continues ...
The water in this test site was higher last week due to all the rain in the area, but has now dried to create some patches of lunging water.
The Fifth Series is a Land Quad with a Flyer, a Simulated Flyer and Two Retired Guns using all ducks. Skies have cleared and lighting is bright. The line sits at the top edge of a bowl facing nearly North. The backdrop at the edge of the field is tree-lined and blocks the river frontage. Much of the area is mowed where the area allows and the balance is marsh with small "islands" of elevation dotting the water. There is a duck blind between the left-hand flyer and the rest of the marks. Two brush areas are just below the line.
Bird #1: (SimF for Simulated Flyer) The simulated flyer goes off first. It is a drake that lands 270 yards to the left. The path to the bird will take the dog down the hill, between scrub brush and through lunging water. These guns will remain standing out.
Bird #2: (RR for Right Retired) The second bird is a hen mallard thrown 232 yards to the left. This hen mallard is an angle back on land. The dog will skirt along the right shore of the marshy area. Then will go through a cove, skimming land, past another marshy area and on to solid ground to pick up the bird.
Bird #3: (LR for Left Retired) The Left Retired Gun is a hen mallard thrown to the right at 200 yards. The dog drops down the hill, through lunging water, across some land, back into the marsh and on to solid ground.
Bird #4: (F for Flyer) The Flyer is a drake mallard shot to the left at approximately 108 yards. It is furthest left of the field and after it is shot it is sluiced.
The retired guns go to their blinds as the dog is picking up the flyer go-bird. This test is taking approximately 11 minutes plus or minus per dog to complete.
