1st & 2nd Series – Converging Land Double and Land Blind

94 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out the day at 6:44 am, beginning with our honorary test dog "Dottie." Then came "Henry" and "Maci," giving the competitors a good idea of what they might expect for these first two series.

Our first running dog #68 FC SDK's Moderation Is For Cowards, "Kikr" with owner handler Shane Olean started the 64th running of the 2022 National Amateur Retriever Club Championship at 7:22 am!
Our weather started in the 50’s and reached into the mid 60’s. We didn't have much breeze and mostly cloudy conditions for the majority of the day. All in all, it was a pretty good day to be in the field with our beloved retrievers!

Here is how things turned out for the 1st and 2nd Series…
No-Bird / Re-Run (6): 95 – 16 – 24 – 48 – 54 – 58
Handles (6): 76 – 94 – 96 – 97 – 14 – 31
Pick-Ups (2): 79 – 26
Scratches (4): 18 – 19 – 27 – 44

Our last running dog for the day, and for Series 1 and 2 was dog #67 FC-AFC Wood River's Mr Big "George," LM with owner/handler Bill Fruehling. They came to the line at 4:47 pm and he completed the test and the day was called by the judges at 4:52 pm.

94 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking 9 hours and 25 minutes, which averages out to be just about 6 minutes per dog.

On to the 3rd Series we go!
